Claudine Gay will become the 30th president of Harvard University on July 1.

Since 2018, Gay has served as the Edgerley Family Dean of Harvard’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences , the University’s largest and most academically diverse faculty, spanning the biological and physical sciences and engineering, the social sciences, and the humanities and arts.

The daughter of Haitian immigrants, Gay received her bachelor’s degree in 1992 from Stanford, where she majored in economics and was awarded the Anna Laura Myers Prize for best undergraduate thesis. In 1998, she received her Ph.D. in government from Harvard, where she won the Toppan Prize for best dissertation in political science.

Speaking after her election, Gay said, “I am humbled by the confidence that the governing boards have placed in me and by the prospect of succeeding President Bacow in leading this remarkable institution. It has been a privilege to work with Larry over the last five years. He has shown me that leadership isn’t about one person. It’s about all of us, moving forward together, and that’s a lesson I take with me into this next journey.

“Today, we are in a moment of remarkable and accelerating change — socially, politically, economically, and technologically,” said Gay. “So many fundamental assumptions about how the world works and how we should relate to one another are being tested“Yet Harvard has a long history of rising to meet new challenges, of converting the energy of our time into forces of renewal and reinvention,” she continued.

“As I start my tenure, there’s so much more for me to discover about this institution that I love, and I’m looking forward to doing just that, with our whole community.”

Harvard University appoints Claudine Gay as school's first Black president | CNNClaudine Gay will serve as Harvard University’s 30th president -- the first person of color and the second woman to hold the role. Discrimination against people of other colors. I have zero confidence in anything Harvard, period. This only means she’s a waste of humanity if Harvard hired her. Quit and go work for a real legit company. Congratulations

Harvard names Claudine Gay as first Black president in nearly 400-year historyHarvard announced the election of social scientist Claudine Gay as the university's 30th president. She will be the first Black person and second woman to hold the role. Because Kamala has done such a good job being selected because of her sex and color. Be sure to point out the physical traits that don't matter so that we can all suspect she's another unqualified 'diversity and inclusion' hire. that kind of sayings keeps racism still on the agenda, like a monkey is ruling a country you can't hear such things about the white people because the mentality people have inside about the black people being missing is still powerful

Claudine Gay to lead Harvard as its first Black presidentHarvard announced that Claudine Gay will serve as its next president, effective July 1. The appointment means one of the most powerful institutions of higher education in the U.S. will have a Black president for the first time in its history. Oh cool. Does this mean they will continue to discriminate? Very interesting. While your first comment about her qualification for this position is 'Black'(note capitalization), no where is it stated she was the most qualified. So,was it her resume in total or only her 'black'&minority interests listed that made her appointment possible? Black black black black black black black black

Harvard Announces Claudine Gay to Serve As Its First Black and Second Female PresidentThe current Harvard dean of Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Claudine Gay, will be the school’s first Black president and second female leader, the university announced Thursday. Attended Philip Exeter Academy, Stanford, Harvard. And she claims she came from underprivileged. Not bad for a person who built her career on race hustling and canceling Harvard economist Roland Fryer. Why not apply the same level of scientific rigor to her academic work as done by economists in their profession. Do you think Gay’s work stands up to data analysis like Fryer’s? Why was this data scientist fired? Do you not think that Gay would rather pursue a narrative than science as Harvard’s president given her life work?

Harvard names Claudine Gay its 30th president, first Black leader in university's historyGay will be the Ivy League school's first Black leader, and only the second woman to be appointed its president since its founding in 1636. Hey why are you not reporting anything about the FBI colluding with big tech to sensor the American people?💕🇺🇸🇨🇦 they are just trying to be relevant people are starting to realize ivy league schools are overrated over paid overtly expensive, that coupled with collage only being useful for doctors lawyers and academics, they figure a move like this would keep them in good favor It’s all about the DNA
