, the 26-year-old Black woman fatally shot by police in her apartment six months ago, The Courier Journal has learned.
The accord will also provide housing credits to officers who agree to live within the city, and it would seek the authority for drug and alcohol testing of officers involved in any shooting. Taylor, 26, was shot and killed after Louisville Metro Police officers broke down her apartment door March 13 to serve a signed "no-knock"search warrant in connection with a narcotics investigation centered 10 miles away.
Mattingly and two other officers — detectives Brett Hankison and Myles Cosgrove — returned fire. Taylor was hit five times and died in her hallway.Charges in the Breonna Taylor case? The suit was filed April 27 and named the three officers as defendants.
they arrest those murderous cops then? or are they free to go murder wile the city uses tax payer money for a settlement?
Arrest the killer cops.
What does the terrorized and traumatized public get? Where's the justice? Where's the necessary systemic change?
Arrest the murdering cops yesterday. Why is this so difficult?
Right thing to do! Accidental shooting while executing a search warrant. NOT Racism! Now stop protesting and burning shit down.
the_60s_at_60 What is the ambulance chaser Crump’s cut of this?
You don't see the media covering this story do you?! because it's not white officers against a black man. An officer DIED at a normal traffic stop all because this man wouldn't comply! This is NOT ok!!!!
Don't date drug dealers, pretty simple
This is what needed to happen. Now StopNoKnockWarrants. PoliceReform
Settling with the family is not the same as the issue being settled.
' the largest amount the city paid was $8.5M, Edwin Chandler 2012. He was wrongfully imprisoned for nine years after Detective Mark Handy perjured himself.' sooner or later cities will be forced to clean up their police depts. they can't afford the settlements with the citizens
Wow! I'm glad they are getting the fat $$$, the won't even miss Breonna while they are living it up in Vegas on the taxpayer dime.
not a PhD in economics but poor people will be either losing services or getting taxes raised, yea prison was the only justice...
A. 'Taxpayers' aren't paying anything toward this settlement. Governments have insurance for this very reason. B. This is a tacit admission of wrongdoing, and is separate and apart from the cops who MURDERED her needing to be arrested and prosecuted.
Where are the arrest and charges?
It’s crazy how cops can get this wrong and the tax payers gotta pay for their mistakes. Smfh. Take it out of their pension.
Not good enough they must arrest her killers
dont worry just taxpayer money and it won’t stop happening in the future
So they settle for something for which they refuse to assign responsibility
Damn. They could've just arrested the fucks and saved a bit of money.
The murderers still need to be charged.
So the family gets rewarded for her being involved with people who sell drugs and shoot at police? Makes sense
dont worry just taxpayers footing the bill for people who like to cosplay as police
Stop giving these families of criminals money!
Whewww I bet she's happy about this? No? You mean murdered ppl can't benefit from your fucking money? outrageous
Howl ye; for the day of the lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the almighty.they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames
Racism is expensive. Remember that Joe Arpaio cost taxpayers millions and millions in lawsuits, and voters still voted him in. The right won't pay more taxes for healthcare or schools, but racist murder... they will pay whatever it takes.
They throwing the sack of shit police officer in jail? Cuz that's the only thing that'll be worth it
