The Marquis Industrial Area site houses an environmental consulting firm operated by the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

Speaking before a document signing to establish the new urban reserve at 211 Wheeler Street, Clark admitted he was a bit “in awe” of Cook-Searson, who has served as the chief of the province’s largest First Nation since 2005.

Clark said this was an example of how a positive relationships between the province’s largest city and First Nations who rely on Saskatoon as a service hub can benefit everyone. The LLRIB already owns the land being set aside for the urban reserve. Located in the Marquis Industrial area, the site is home to Canada North Environmental Services, a company owned by Kitsaki Management Limited Partnership, which is owned by the LLRIB.

Ty Roberts, reserve lands manager for the LLRIB, explained that establishing the site as an urban reserve allows the band to further its goal of having a landing place for band members who complete post-secondary education in the sciences.
