Christianity Today receives boost in new subscriptions after calling for Trump's removal

Christianity Today Editor in Chief Mark Galli acknowledged to MSNBC on Sunday that the magazine has lost subscribers in the wake of an op-ed calling for Trump's removal from office.Galli authored the editorial published Thursday under the headline "Trump Should Be Removed from Office."

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump delivers the convocation at the Vines Center on the campus of Liberty University January 18, 2016 in Lynchburg, Virginia.'s removal from office over his "blackened moral record" has received a boost in subscribers despite a public backlash among leading evangelicals, according to the publication's editor in chief.

Mark Galli, the editor in chief of Christianity Today who authored the op-ed, acknowledged to MSNBC on Sunday that the magazine has lost subscribers, but he said there has also been an outpouring of support. "A stereotypical response is 'thank you, thank you, thank you' with a string of a hundred exclamation points — 'you've said what I've been thinking but haven't been able to articulate, I'm not crazy,'" Galli said of the response from supporters. "We have lost subscribers but we've had 3 times as many people start to subscribe.

Galli called on evangelicals who continue to support Trump "despite his blackened moral record" to "remember who you are and whom you serve. Consider how your justification of Mr. Trump influences your witness to your Lord and Savior."

The critics of the piece by Christianity Today, who claim to better know or represent evangelicals, are using political arguments & refusing to accept the moral and ethical challenge it set out. CT says consult your conscience & Franklin Graham & Ralph Reed say partisan politics. Not nice to lie, Mark. Just a ploy to prop up a failing print product. Opinion: Trump insults rather than rebuts Christianity Today. His outrage act is getting oldChristianity Today called for President Trump's ouster, so he tweeted an insult rather than a rebuttal. Which, really, is all he knows how to do. opinion Christian trump supporters are at a crossroads. Either renounce your faith and join trump’s cult, or respect your faith and denounce him. There is no middle ground. opinion what's great about this is that the government can start looking around and realize that these people are not christians, they are just in a club, like the masons. they are not spiritual people at all, just people who use club membership to get paid and make contacts. opinion
