Chinese state media touts '5,000 years of trials and tribulations,' gearing up for trade war

China's state media is drumming up nationalism amid a full blown trade war between the U.S. and China.

China's newspaper posted a photo translated to say, "Negotiate— we can! Fight— bring it on! Bully us— YOU WISH!" Getting a successful trade deal and what markets do in the meantime could have an effect on the President's chance at a reelection.China's state media is using propaganda to drum up support against the United States and President Donald Trump as the trade war escalates.

In a clip from state broadcaster CCTV that went viral, an anchor asks, "After 5,000 years of trials and tribulations, what kind of battle have the Chinese not been through?" The video, which has been viewed more than 3.3 billion times, underscores how China wants to portray itself as playing the long game in the trade battle in contrast with President Trump, whose reelection next year could be at risk if voters perceive the trade war negatively.

The simple truth is that the financial media is being disingenuous by not telling Americans the truth about those tariffs. The tariffs are taxes increases born by American consumers. Plan and simple, we’re paying those tariffs in the form of higher prices.

Piece of advice to realDonaldTrump: don't f*&k with the Chinese!

5000 years. But only 3 under Trump. Every empire falls.

It has taken a trade war to remind us that China does not play by our rules and does not share a mythology with us. They will not kowtow; their mythology is that the 19th C. kowtow to the West cost them their empire and their nationhood. They are not going to do it again.

Let them eat rice!

It's clear that China can't afford to get in trade war with US,because that would simply mean that the Chinese government will experience economic setback and severe homeland social struggle and economic difficulties not to mention foreign investment issues.

buckle up mufuckers. Trump gonna kick China's ass

As trade war escalates, Chinese remember ‘national humiliation’As the U.S.-China trade war escalates, many Chinese are recalling a state-sponsored narrative of China’s “century of humiliation,” when a weakening imperial China fell prey to Western and Japanese colonialism during the 19th and 20th centuries. aliceysu The LA Times can kiss my ass for all I care. aliceysu Good God, the LAT's typical effort when the chips are on the table - seek finding sympathy because of the past for the adversaries current self serving evil actions. aliceysu Not to forget: A bipartisan trade war. Trump has found an ally in at least one key Democrat – Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer . . In a tweet, he urged the president to 'hang tough on China.' Can't imagine that the LAT's will report this.
