The Hercules C-130 cargo plane, which was carrying 17 crew members and 21 passengers, disappeared shortly after taking off on Dec. 9 from the southern city of Punta Arenas in Chilean Patagonia. This week the investigators began underwater searches in the Drake Sea, a vast untouched ocean wilderness off the southernmost edge of the South American continent that plunges to 3,500 meters .
“From what we have found and given the context, the truth is that the plane suffered a complete collapse that caused it to disintegrate, either in the sea or in the air,” he said.

Very odd. Almost the EXACT same thing happened during Pinera's first term. Not only that, but a general who refused to back the 'state of emergency' military curfew in Chillan, was on that plane, him and a climate activist. Was this an extra-judicial murder and PR stunt?

I feel like with modern day satellite communications that all aircraft telemetry and black box data could be backed up live to ground based servers. It's not like that it's that much needed bandwidth anyways. Most of the time it'd need only kilobits of data transmission speed.
