Chief Justice John Roberts on an analysis that found 131 federal judges unlawfully failed to disqualify themselves in 685 cases from 2010-2018: 'Let me be crystal clear: the Judiciary takes this matter seriously.'

, the court’s abortion docket, in particular, demonstrates why liberals aren't easily swayed by the chief justice's oft-repeated pleas for procedural moderation.“The judiciary’s power to manage its internal affairs insulates courts from inappropriate political influence and is crucial to preserving public trust in its work as a separate and coequal branch of government,” he wrote.

Roberts also referenced William Howard Taft, who served as Chief Justice of the United States after his presidency . "He understood that criticism of the courts is inevitable, and he lived through an era when federal courts faced strident calls for reform, some warranted and some not," the current Chief Justice wrote., which ran in September and revealed 131 federal judges unlawfully failed to disqualify themselves in 685 cases in between 2010 and 2018.Though he pointed out that the cases cited represented “less than three hundredths of one percent of the 2.

'Let me be crystal clear: Too little. Too late.'

Seems like we need a list of things they take seriously vs not. Lines have gotten blurry.

Why is John Roberts reminding me of Donald J Trump, and the boys?

Arriadna How bout Kavanaugh’s 83 ethical lapses? He didn’t take them seriously? How about the 4,500 tips the FBI got on Kavanaugh but didn’t follow up on?

What is he going to do about it

The Supreme Court is over now nothing but puppets to thier on beliefs not the rule of law or precedent proved it when they lied

Ok, buddy.

😂😂 A nice joke to start the year!

Ah! Roberts is employing the good old Jedi Mind Trick. We will magically forget the last decade involving SCOTUS not disqualifying themselves. Thus, supplanting our knowledge with a false impression of a SCOTUS rising above impropriety and partisanship. Brilliant!

I mean, afterall, that’s 8 years and 2 presidents. It’s not the quantity of cases, but exactly which cases and what impact those cases have.

deray If you believe that, I would like to sell you the 'Brett Kavanaugh believes that Roe v. Wade is settled law' bridge.

For instance justices Scalia and Thomas, who should have recused themselves from cases involving parties which had given them gifts and all-expenses-paid vacations.

Does he name the actual cases?

Is there anywhere we can see this list of judges without a paywall?

Of course Justice Roberts pushes back on outside efforts to reform courts. Status quo whiteowned

I would bet any money most of those judges were Republicans

What about 2019 and up to election in 2020. Hmmm? What about that

I’m shocked!

deray Amy Coney Barrett refuses to recuse herself from dark money case of Koch-funded group

deray Justice Amy Coney Barrett's own words require her to recuse herself in abortion cases.

LOL

We have that problem here in The Buckeye State. Imagine the son of The Republican Ohio Governor refusing to recuse himself from proceedings involving redistricting by a Republican supermajority. We don't have to.

So Thomas will be recusing himself from any January 6th cases due to his wife’s involvement?

They haven’t taken it seriously for the last eleven years, acc. to the report, and who knows how much longer. Why should we believe Roberts now. Just because he is a judge? Ha!
