Chicago woman has miscarriage after brutal attack by teenagers, report says

Nina claims she screamed before the teenager pepper-sprayed her eyes and another one began stomping on her. Nina’s husband purportedly ran toward her before more than 10 people held him back. At one point, Nina asked the teenagers why they were attacking her and said she was trying to go home to her child, according to FOX32.

“We’re asking the state’s attorney’s to consider upgrading those charges to felony charges resulting in great bodily harm,” Hopkins said. “Both victims suffered extensive injuries, and the medical examination is ongoing.”There has been a 2% increase this year in complaints for aggravated battery, according to police data. Such a crime is a felony in Illinois. Citywide, there has been an 11% decrease in crime rates for aggravated battery, robbery and burglary, among other crimes.
