Chicago shootings: At least 18 shot, 5 fatally in weekend gun violence across city, police say

A Galewood, Chicago shooting left a 77-year-old man hurt, the police department said. A group tried to rob him in the 6100 block of West North Avenue.after a verbal altercation with another person on the city's South Side Saturday night, according to police. The teens, both 16, were on the sidewalk in the 3500-block of S. State Street around 6:45 p.m., when they were involved in a verbal altercation with an unknown person inside a vehicle.

An 18-year-old woman was shot inside a West Loop business Saturday morning. It happened about 11:35 a.m. when someone fired shots in the first block of North Jefferson Street, Chicago police said. The woman was hit in the abdomen and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was in fair condition, police said. Officers were questioning a person of interest, according to police.in an early Saturday morning shooting on Chicago's Northwest Side, police said.

About an hour earlier, a 15-year-old boy was shot early Saturday in Fernwood on the South Side. The teen was walking through an alley about 2 a.m. in the 10300 block of South Union Avenue when someone in a car started shooting, Chicago police said. A citizen drove the boy to Roseland Hospital, where he was listed in good condition with a gunshot wound to the left hand, police said. No arrests were reported.

On Friday night, another teen was shot, police said. A 17-year-old boy was wounded inside a North Lawndale home on the West Side. The teen was inside the home in the 3300 block of West Douglas Boulevard about 7:40 p.m. when he was shot in the left arm, Chicago police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said. No one was in custody.

Uh, no. The governor outlawed “assault rifles” so obviously nobody will get shot in chicago anymore.

Chicago has very tough gun laws, but guns are coming in from surrounding States freely.

How is the Mayor's crime plan working? Only 18 shot and 5 critically sounds like an improvement lol. I tell you these leaders don't have an idea of what's really going on.
