A Chicago man was found shot to death in Oak Park Saturday morning after being struck by bullets fired from a passing vehicle, according to Oak Park police.
According to a news release from the village, officials said police responded to the vicinity of Chicago and Lombard avenues around 3:42 a.m. on a call of shots fired.A man, now identified by authorities as Rayshawn Hudgins, 31, of Chicago, was found face-down near a garage in the 400 block of North Lombard Avenue.
The release states that Hudgins had been walking westbound on Chicago Avenue “when he was confronted by a vehicle that fired multiple shots with an unknown handgun. The vehicle fled westbound on Chicago Avenue. The preliminary police investigation indicates that Hudgins was targeted by an assailant.”He was transported by ambulance to nearby Loyola University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, according to the release.
