The Oklahoma City star looked nearly unstoppable, shooting 13-of-19 from the floor for a playoff career-high of 33 points.
Gilgeous-Alexander’s dominant night ended with the sweetest shout-out from Chet Holmgren, who took advantage of an opportunity to hype up his star teammate. During a postgame interview at Paycom Center, Holmgren grabbed the mic to say a very special message. “I got one more thing to say,” Holmgren said, with an arm around Gilgeous-Alexander. “He’s too humble to say it, but this is the MVP right here. MVP of the league. Imma say it for him ‘cause he won’t say it.” Holmgren had an efficient outing himself, shooting 9-of-13 for 26 points and adding seven rebounds. His 15 points in the first quarter marked the most by a Thunder rookie in any quarter of a playoff game.
