People living with dementia have many strengths and can enjoy a multitude of activities at any stage of the disease.
The arts are examples of activities that can stimulate many parts of the brain and provide a lot of benefit to people living with dementia. They can be an outlet of self-expression for all of us, and especially become a way for individuals with dementia to communicate as the disease progresses.
Utah’s Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Coordinating Council is working to make Utah more dementia-friendly by creating safe spaces for individuals living with dementia and their care partners to participate in some of these activities.
