agree. i helped my kid write an essay using chatGPT in minutes! i could never write that in such a short time..
How is that different from asking parents family teachers
So this is an issue. If a kid has a home computer or tablet, they can access the site at home, but a kid that does not have those tools will be unable and therefore have less equitable outcome.
How exactly are they prevent them from using it for homework?

Maybe they should be allowed to use it and also be taught other skills that will help them be valued members of the community. It’s not just having information. It’s using it appropriately. We don’t want them to grow up to mimic the House Republicans, after all.

getting software to do the work for you…this will trend towards some very unintelligent people. Even Bill Gates had strict limits on his kids using computers. This is cheating by the way, according teachers I spoke with.

Public schools prepare kids for an economy that hasn’t been around for 75 years. Ai is far more valuable for a child’s education than public school.

All they need to do is give the teacher a web portal submit questions, chatGPT will just refuse to answer. If the student can still bypass the block, they need to be challenged more and moves up a grade.

There are already many AI tools that exists (even before chatgpt) that can help students with their homeworks and assignments, so banning any particular tool won't help.
So every student with Smartphone or similar privilege or simple VPN knowledge can easily hoodwink the system?😂
We may not all understand now, but this is basically like banning books.

This can’t be stopped. I sat with my 7th grader the other night and we used ChatGPT to help us both explain and learn his algebra homework. You can’t ban tech progress.
