"In certain social communities like Vietnam and the U.S., we embrace kids with deformities," says Dr. Quatela. "But there's other communities that actually shun them and they are a liability. So, a simple deformity like this it doesn't enable them to go to college, carry on a job that they want to, and we've seen those changes. I've seen kids become doctors. It's really rewarding.
