CDC tracks cluster of coronavirus cases in rural Arkansas to church, raising alarm on religious events

Contact tracers in rural Arkansas discovered "widespread transmission" within a church that spilled over into the surrounding community, a new study published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says.

Governors have placed varying degrees of restrictions on faith-based organizations from the start of the outbreak. "This outbreak highlights the potential for widespread transmission of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, both at group gatherings during church events and within the broader community," the researchers wrote. "Faith-based organizations that are operating or planning to resume in-person operations, including regular services, funerals, or other events, should be aware of the potential for high rates of transmission of SARS-CoV-2.

The investigation traced the two infections to a three-day children's event held at the church between March 6 and March 8 and a bible study group held on March 11.that 34 members of the First Assemblies of God Church in Greers Ferry who attended a children's event there tested positive for the virus.

Re: The CDC tracked a cluster of coronavirus cases in rural Arkansas back to a church pastor and his wife, indicating that faith-based organizations and events could be sources of Covid-19 transmission, according to a new study.

Idiots!

Oh, Jesus Christ.

What about all the folks in the home despot

The big clusters in South Korea stemmed from large church gatherings, this should have been a lesson. But there again we are doomed to keep making the same mistakes over and over as history tells us.

Did CNBC see the real news? Quid Pro Quo between Sleepy Joe and Ukraine.....

If you gather a lot of people together, especially indoors, for a lengthy period of time and without proper screening, disinfecting or distancing principles, it doesn’t matter if it’s a house of worship or a bowling alley; the setting will be a potential source of transmission.

Trump and Jesus will not save you, if you don't have common sense.

Pray it away. sarcasm

Surprised? Noooootttttttt!

We know this from South Korea. You have a bunch of people crammed in a room drinking from the same damn cup. There are vector charts about how one church congregation in SK infected nearly a thousand people. This isn’t new info.
