UPDATE: 'Our best estimate right now is that for every case that's reported, there actually are 10 other infections,' CDC director Dr. Robert Redfield said Thursday. For every confirmed case of COVID-19, 10 more people had antibodies, Redfield said.

"This virus causes so much asymptomatic infection," Redfield said."The traditional approach of looking for symptomatic illness and diagnosing it obviously underestimates the total amount of infections."He urged Americans to be vigilant about behavior measures known to minimize spread of the coronavirus.

"The most powerful tool that we have is social distancing," Redfield said. That means maintaining a physical distance of at least six feet in public, wearing face coverings and ongoing hand-washing. "If you must go out into the community, being in contact with fewer people is better than many," Redfield added.

CDC Director Robert Redfield estimated that the US has ten (10) undetected cases for every reported case of COVID-19 as reported in Thursday Jun 25 press call.

That proves its less deadly than the flu

People WAKE UPPPPPP ITS A LIE -he is a LIE. SANDY HOOK MEDICAL EXAMINER “died”!. Lol. Nope. Lost weight & had a minor ear lobe surgery. What’s crazy is to believe these LIES

Take lessons for NY's response of killing 20,000 seniors. Do not interfere between Dr and Patient by not regulate how patients are treat. By all means do not send positive seniors to Nursing Homes....

Duh. Everyone will eventually have it and/or already had it.

Why does the CDCDirector or CDCgov think no matter his 'PLEADING' that any of us will listen. One of the institutions we needed the most ABANDONED us in America and the world. It is shameful. DefundtheCDC CDCAbandonsUSA CDCDisgrace COVID19

More like 20-25X. This was known many weeks ago by the multitude of Bayesian statisticians who were crunching numbers.

So at some point we are going to reach herd immunity even without a vaccine right?

Isn’t this what the YouTube California doctors were suggesting before they were ridiculed and blocked? Lots of cases. Little death.

Except the antibody tests are only 50 percent accurate.

So the fatality is now, what, 0.24%? And we locked down for that?

That is good news. Why? Because the virus isn't as damaging or fatal as reported. Influenza infected 58 million Americans from October-April 2019-2020, 27X more cases than Covid-19, which has had 200,000 hospitalizations vs. 730,000 for influenza. So..Covid is not a big deal.

Thought the Communist China gangsters send money in astronomical numbers for 70 years to Africa, to support their invade to the white, while the common Chinese people believe the black life cheap, nothing matter, for 70 years too!

I can’t fathom the idiots who think this is bad news. Potentially 20 more million Americans had it and survived. The IFR of this virus is so low. Good news.

And you wonder why those great ancient civilizations disappeared.

Some of you folks flunked stats class.

Lies!! MSM wants narrative alive till November ❗

'An estimated 60 percent of American adults have at least one chronic medical condition.' CDC been FAILING AMERICANS FOR YEARS. DefundCDC Failed Models, Lied about Masks, Compromised Tests. Enough already. Take control of YOUR OWN HEALTH.

Some countries have a tracking system since the beginning to track each case and contacts. As soon as a case is confirmed they test the whole area and test every individual and area of any person that interacted with the person. The US is an unstoppable wild inferno with a mad P.

GadiNBC More good news.

Good thing warm weather kills the virus. Can't wait for summer to arrive.

if just 10% of Coronavirus cases have been reported then the 2.5 million of Americans who are currently infected actually means 25 Million Americans or almost 9% of the citizens, great job Mr. President, realDonaldTrump

pattysmattyvt Because testing was so insufficient.

I credit my immunity to my high alcohol intake...'for medicinal purposes only.'

Oh you mean the antibodies that only last two months

But death's way down?

This is actually a good thing. More people develop antibodies the less it will spread.

😳

That would mean that the mortality rate is 10x lower than we thought too.

American Airlines stock sinks as COVID-19 cases surge, while Cowen reiterates long-time bullish stanceShares of American Airlines Group Inc. sank 6.1% in afternoon trading Wednesday, and have now shed 35% since closing at a 3 1/2-month high on June 8, as worries about a surge in COVID-19 cases overshadowed upbeat analyst comments on the air carrier's recent liquidity boost. With more than half the U.S. states showing increases in COVID-19 infections, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, which have declining rates of infections, said they will impose a 14-day quarantine on travelers from new hotspot states, including Florida, Texas, Arizona and North Carolina. Meanwhile, Cowen analyst Helane Becker reiterated her outperform rating on American's stock for the past three years, and her $20 stock price target, as she praised the additional liquidity the air carrier raised. Early Tuesday, the company said its public offering of 74.1 million shares priced at $13.50, to raise $1.00 billion, and that it priced a public offering of $1 billion in 6.50% convertible senior notes due 2025. "American remains a contrarian stock idea but in our view, the improved liquidity situation is a net positive," Becker wrote in a note to clients. American's stock outperformed its peers, as shares of United Airlines Holdings Inc. dropped 7.7%, Delta Air Lines Inc. slid 7.7%, JetBlue Airways Corp. lost 8.6% and Southwest Airlines Co. gave up 6.4%. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 768 points, or 2.9%.
