The CDC announced that people will no longer have to isolate for five days after testing positive for COVID-19

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued an advisory on Friday that people will no longer have to isolate if they test positive for COVID-19.

Gandhi, who wrote a book on COVID-19, “Endemic: A Post-Pandemic Playbook,” said that although it was clear early in the pandemic that COVID-19 wasn’t going to be eradicated, it’s taken longer than expected for U.S. agencies to update comprehensive guidance about how to live with the disease. “The critics of this are saying that there's still a lot of disease from COVID-19 that has severe consequences, and that's true,” he said. “But at the same time, I'm not sure if people are taking precautions or taking advantage of the tools available.”
