More than 30 years later, Mara Jade, one of the most important characters from the Star Wars Expanded Universe, has yet to appear in a movie or TV show. After Disney bought Lucasfilm, the Expanded Universe stories were labeled as Legends, as in non-canon events. As such, having live-action Mara Jade in a Star Wars movie became a lot less likely.

Gillan reprised her role as Nebula in two other Guardians of the Galaxy films as well as two Avengers movies.

Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Order is bound to end in tragedy in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but Star Wars has at least two decades to cover in which Skywalker was a Jedi Master.
