Carvana hasn’t said how many people are being laid off at the Euclid facility or if it will close permanently, offering only that it is transitioning its Euclid facility operations away from the existing site in the next few weeks.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Amid a difficult used car market, Carvana has announced it is laying off 2,500 people across the company, and “transitioning” away from its inspection center in Euclid.

“Recent macroeconomic factors have pushed automotive retail into recession,” Carvana spokesperson Veronica Cardenas said in an email. “While Carvana is still growing, our growth is slower than what we originally prepared for in 2022, and we made the difficult decision to reduce the size of certain operations teams to better align with the current needs of the business.”

it is transitioning its Euclid facility operations away from the existing site in the next few weeks.“Carvana is one of Euclid’s top 15 employers, so we are extremely disappointed to learn about the layoffs,” Gail said in an email. “We were not contacted directly by Carvana, so are anxious to learn more about how this decision will impact our residents, our community and our budget.”
