In collaboration with Cartier, Expo 2020 Dubai has reaffirmed its commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment, unveiling creative content and programming for the Women’s Pavilion that will celebrate women change-makers around the globe under the theme of “New Perspectives.” The Women’s Pavilion will shed light on the central role women, known and unknown, have played throughout history, leading up to the present.
From October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, the exhibition invites its visitors to participate in an immersive experience through a tribute dedicated to women from all backgrounds and vocations, from global political figures to local community members to female business leaders.“The international community has made progress in gender equality and women’s empowerment, but much more needs to be done.
It’s the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region and the first since the 1900s with a stand-alone pavilion dedicated to women.
The Expo will provide a visually striking 182 days, as more than 200 participants create the largest and most diverse World Expo ever; including nations, multilateral organizations, businesses, and educational institutions, and millions of visitors. The exhibition will highlight important contributions women have made in advancing societies, as well as the challenges women still face, especially as the world navigates through the Covid-19 pandemic and works toward a more sustainable future.
