Cameroon’s Vincent Aboubakar picked up a red card after scoring the game-winner against Brazil

Brazil appeared to be headed to a scoreless draw in Friday’s World Cup match against Cameroon at Lusail Stadium.

For more than 90 minutes, with many bench players starting, Brazil’s defense kept Cameroon from notching a goal. That’s until Vincent Aboubakar struck in the 91st, notching the lone goal of the game off of a pass from Jerome Ngom Mbekeli. However, immediately after Aboubakar found the back of the net to break the deadlock, the forward removed shirt in a celebratory moment and displayed it to the crowd, which is an automatic yellow card. Abobakar had already received a yellow for an aggressive tackle on Brazil’s Gabriel Martinelli, so the referee sent him off with his second. dapped up

the Cameroon player, seemingly to say he had no choice but to dish out the second yellow. Despite Aboubakar’s late score and Cameroon’s victory against the five-time World Cup winners, Cameroon was eliminated from the tournament. The Indomitable Lions finished third in points in Group G, two points below second-placed Switzerland after the Swiss defeated Serbia, 3–2. The Seleção finished in first despite the loss.

But even without making it through to the knockout stage, Aboubakar and Cameroon had their own special moment.
