Cameron Norrie defeats Grigor Dimitrov to reach the Indian Wells final, where he will face Nikoloz Basilashvili

Cameron Norrie, of Britain, reacts to beating Grigor Dimitrov, of Bulgaria, in a semifinal match at the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament, October 16, 2021, in Indian Wells, California.

Norrie raced out to a 4-0 lead and wrapped up the first set in just 31 minutes with a service winner. Norrie, who won his first ATP title at the Los Cabos Open earlier this year, held his nerve to serve out the match and sealed the win when Dimitrov netted a service return. "I'm not a guy who is going to blow you off the court and hit a lot of winners. So I like to get into the longer rallies and make the match physical. And when it's like that, it's on my terms."

San Diego native Fritz had the support of the crowd but came up short in the match's biggest moments, failing to convert any of his seven break-point opportunities, including three in the opener that would have won him the set.
