Neubauer takes over running the comedy series from Darlene Hunt, who stepped down from running the show at the end of its first season. Hunt also developed the show for American television, as it is based on the BBC Studios’ format “Miranda.”

Neubauer is a veteran of the Chuck Lorre camp, having worked on the super-producer’s hit shows “Mom” and “Two and a Half Men.” She started out as a script coordinator on the latter show before rising to the rank of co-producer. She most recently served as a co-executive producer on “Mom,” which ended its run on CBS after eight seasons back in May.

Mayim Bialik stars in “Call Me Kat” as as a woman who struggles every day against society and her mother to prove that she can live a happy and fulfilling life, despite still being single at 39 — which is why she recently spent her entire savings to open a cat café in Louisville. The series also stars Swoosie Kurtz, Cheyenne Jackson, Leslie Jordan, Kyla Pratt, and Julian Gant.

The series is produced by That’s Wonderful Productions, Sad Clown Productions and BBC Studios’ Los Angeles production arm in association with Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment. Bialik, Jim Parsons, Todd Spiewak, Miranda Hart and Angie Stephenson also serve as executive producers. Alison Mo Massey will continue to oversee for That’s Wonderful, and Mackenzie Gabriel-Vaught will continue to oversee for Sad Clown.
