There may be plenty of second chances in life, but there are very few when it comes to voting — a bitter pill to swallow for those Californians who voted for any of the presidential candidates that dropped out before Tuesday’s statewide election.the former mayor of South Bend, Ind., sparked some brief interest on social media about the rules governing a possible revote.
There are no firm numbers on how many of California’s 20.7 million registered voters have already weighed in. Paul Mitchell, whose for-profit campaign research firm, Political Data Inc., tracks ballots as they are returned, said about 20% of all mailed ballots had been received by local elections officials as of Friday. But he said that underestimates how much of the race is already over, as millions of ballots that were mailed out won’t be returned.
No dumb do-over!
That’s their problem for being so shortsighted.
These are the same people that think early voting is a good idea.
I’m so frustrated by this. Voted for Pete on my CA mail in ballot. I would now like my vote to go to Elizabeth Warren.
That’s why I waited until after SC. Didn’t want to waste my primary vote.
😂😂😂😂😂
GustavoArellano This is why I will never vote early in a primary.
This is why I only vote on the day of the election
😂😂😂😂 A Do-Over,Always F... CA,Looks Like You Guys Are S... Out Of Luck!😂😂😂😂🖕😏
I’ll never vote early again. OCRegistrar introduced all mail-in ballots for this election. I should have just turned in my ballot in-person on Super Tuesday but I already mailed in a somewhat meaningless vote for PeteButtigieg . bummer
onahunttoday This is one reason I don't vote early. You just never know what might happen between your early vote and the actual election day.
I am in Florida and have held onto my absentee (paper) ballot due to the volatile nature of this election. I will wait and see where things stand after Super Tuesday.
This is why early voting is malarky.
I mean, they should do ranked or instant run off if they do early voting. It would solve the majority of the problem.
Main stream media keeps telling you they are gonna force Biden or Bloomberg on you to keep corporate sponsors happy - why waste an early vote on anyone polling so low ?
But we MUST have early voting to insure fairness...lol.
This is what is SO Lame about mail-in voting! Hey, CASOSvote SDVOTE not sure if you know this is 2020!, had www/internet 50±years! Smartphones 2 decades! Yet, can't cast votes, can't adjust votes before primary when candidate drops, dies, convicted? SameOld,SameOld Partisan BS!
Even though I can vote early- get a ballot in the mail- I wait- always- and drop off on Election Day for this very reason. Every place I’ve lived- paper ballots you get in mail are the best- sane day voting is also great for kids to learn!
I feel that way about Yang! It was a wasted vote!
You whined about early voting, ya got it. Boo hoo! Shaddup.
That's the risk of early voting, vote early at your own risk. Candidates are bound to drop out.
This is why early voting is such a stupid idea.
Grapple with desire?
Why?
Ah you have to love early voting.
🙄 your vote was your vote.
I'm in MA and have voted early for Mayor Pete. I will vote blue no matter who is the nominee but I wish my vote could be more meaningful.
😂😂😂
The Early Voting blues.
Instant Run Off Voting
But any vote for a Dem is a wasted vote.
Well that’s the way it goes they voted for the guys who dropped out that is part of the proses
Can they do that?
