More than half of the prisoners could be released this month. The corrections department says it's reviewing the roster of prisoners who have fewer than 180 days left on their sentences; it anticipates roughly 4,800 people could be eligible for release by the end of July.

What will happen to them? There are very few jobs that are avail and for those with a prison history they will have no way of providing for themselves which means more homelessness perhaps more crimes.

Out of the 8000, how many of non-violent, first or second offense, cannabis-related? The war-on-drugs has failed, and we should not be locking up people for an organic plant.
I just don’t get it. If you do something and it’s decided you can’t live in regular society, then whatever you have to live with in prison is a result of ones bad choices. Why should I live amongst released prisoners when I’ve made the choice to make good decisions in life?
