However, the number of new daily cases started to decline after August 13 and as of Sunday, CDC data showed that California had a 7-day average of 7,707 new COVID-19 cases., over the past week, California has seen a 7 percent rise in cases compared to the previous week. In comparison, the analysis found that over the previous two-week period, the state saw a 30 percent rise in new cases.
