A coalition of mayors from California's 13 biggest cities say they need more state funding to combat homelessness

And so cities throughout California have been taking action with the help of a big boost in state funding. Last year, the governor allocated $2-billion dollars toward homelessness over a two-year period."With quick build apartment complexes like we have in San Jose, tiny homes, new kinds of shelters that provide supportive services and we're able to do it much more quickly than the standard approaches," said Liccardo.

"We need ongoing funding or else we're going to face a fiscal cliff where we're going to see 9000 people pushed back onto the streets of our state of California," said Liccardo.

SF isn’t doing nothing so they should not get any money. SF is a dirty city with tents everywhere

More? They caused this shit. Take it out of their pay.

So they can continue to piss it away on failed policies?

They keep throwing money at it and it’s getting worse. Curious as to just Where is that money going?

GET THOSE (CHEATING MACHINES) THE HELL OUT OF OUR STATE POLLING PLACES GAVIN! AND OUT OF THE REST OF OUR COUNTRY TOO! ( TALK TO AUNTIE) AND I THINK U AND SHE CAN DO SOME FANCY 2-STEP TO PULL SOME FUNDS OUTTA YOUR REAR- ACTION FROM SOMEWHERE. U HAVE BOTH ROBBED US BLIND X 35+YRS.

Maybe they can raid the Defense Budget?

RE is so expensive in major Metro cities and a political powder keg topic.. unless you have a large enough federally owned land.. it's basically going to be 'not in my backyard' scenario.. pretty much a socio-economic issue between the haves vs have nots...

What the hell are they doing with the money they already have. Oh silly me buying more homes, private planes and private schools

When is it going to be a emergency to be homeless to the powers that be

“Combat”?

Because they’ve done such an amazing job with the millions they received already

I’ve gotta tell you this report was extremely uncritical and certainly not probing. The funding stream (billions!) has done zilch. Calling meth and fentanyl addicts, criminal work camps for processing stolen property and nomadic street youth “homeless” —for money does nothing.

How about federal funding?
