Taxpayers will pay restaurants to make three meals a day for California's millions of seniors during the coronavirus pandemic, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Friday, April 24, 2020, putting the industry back to work and generating sales tax collections for cash-strapped local governments.
“We want to ... have a diversity of options and make sure what we are sending to our seniors is low sodium and not high-fructose drinks or sugary drinks and the like,” Newsom said. Jot Condie, president and chief executive officer of the California Restaurant Association, said he believes restaurants can adapt to the requirements.
To be eligible, seniors must either live alone or live with one other person who is also eligible. They can’t earn more than $74,940 per year and they must have documented exposure to the coronavirus. Anyone already getting money from other federal food programs would be ineligible.
$66 per day!?! That's insane.
this is very good, helps seniors and the restaurant industry, plus allows the less vulnerable go out a bit more
Well done

Now that’s the hand of the spirit of FDR! Elegantly simple yet benefiting many. And the ‘infrastructure of this problem is already in place.

China used Cuba’s drug Interferon Alfa 2B against Coronavirus. It seemed to do the job very well, theres no new cases in China now except the ones imported.
Or just end the shut down.
