California reparations panel to meet in San Francisco

California’s first-in-the-nation reparations task force meets in person Wednesday, the first time members have gathered face-to-face since their inaugural meeting nearly a year ago and mere weeks after the group voted to limit restitution to descendants of enslaved Black people.

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed legislation creating the two-year reparations task force in 2020, making California the only state to move ahead with a mission to study the institution of slavery, educate the public about its findings and develop remedies. Reparations at the federal level has not gone anywhere, but cities and universities across the country are taking up the issue.

To be honest in terms of people affected the state should be looking to continue/improve on reparations for California Native Americans before they look at reparations for any other group historically damaged by social bigotry and abuse (physically, mentally, emotionally).

The “institution of slavery” affected many who migrated here to escape Jim Crow laws of the deep south for a better life, it was brief, resulting in what was labeled “Urban Renewal Redevelopment” out here in the West CA Fillmore EDUCATE YOURSELVES 👉🏽 SF

What a waste of money and time

Prevention and recovery requires knowledge and rejection of the wrongs.

How to pander: Step 1. ID a group Step 2. Figure out their cause. Step 3. Convene a Task Force. Step 4. Spend $$millions Step 5. TF publishes nonsensical findings that get filed away Step 6. Claim ownership of the TF never mentioning what an utter waste of time & $ it was

Native Americans wiped out. Latino kids still in cages. Asians targeted on a daily basis… but this White Guilt shit is what gets the progressives worked up. Cowards.

If a genetically born XY chromosome man can identify himself as a woman then what is going to stop everyone from identifying themselves as black descendent of slaves?

How about reparations for the Union soldiers that fought and died to end slavery?

Nobody alive was a slave. No slave owners are alive. California was not a slave state. WHY is California wasting time & money on this? Wake up America. Wake up.

People get so mad when reparations are talked about for black folks. But don’t blink an eye when everyone else gets $. Including folks in other countries and other races. They be clueless!
