The man in a wheelchair was stuck on railroad tracks seconds before the train came past, in a dramatic rescue caught on the officer's body camera. The Lodi Police Department says Urrea was patrolling Wednesday near the tracks when she saw the man and the railroad crossing arms starting to come down.
The video shows Urrea rushes from her patrol car and tries to push the man and the wheelchair out of the way as the oncoming locomotive sounds its horn. Unable to move the wheelchair, Urrea is seen dragging the man from it seconds before the train barrels through, striking the wheelchair and the man's leg, the department said.
“Officer Urrea risked her own life to save another and her actions prevented a tragedy,” the statement said. The 66-year-old man was taken to a hospital to be treated for a leg injury and remained hospitalized Thursday in stable condition, said Lodi Police Department spokesman Sgt. Ricardo Garcia.

How awful is it that we need to,praise someone for doing their job or being a decent human being. Is it that rare?
Thank you for doing this!
13thPanther Officer Erika Urrea is one of the good guys.

It's wonderful to see the officers' body cam capture heroism in its truest format. That is one lucky man who shouldn't ever forget his angels name.
Good deed aside; it didn't take long to release the body cam footage, did it?
I'm wondering why this man was traveling parallel to the tracks and not crossing them? That is what it looked like to me. How small were the front wheels? Does the industry need to do recalls for a redesigning of those from wheels?
Now she and her precinct will face lawsuit from injuries the disabled man incur while being pulled to safety by the officer. Life indeed🤷♂️.
If I were an asshole I’d probably say if it was a male cop then the guy would have be pulled completely out of the way and not lost his feet
Ya for police!! BackTheBlue

But was she screaming “get up, get up, get up”..... to a man in a wheelchair I mean... asking for myself... 🤷🏽♀️
