Forest fires that don't burn the forest?

MsVeracruzXXX Prayers to all.

People listed as missing are not all missing and at least one person I know has tried to contact someone to tell the officials she is alive but to no avail. Need a system in place so names can be removed from the list.

Feel sorrow to all the victims.

1000 Last I heard it was around 170. Now 1000? Wow!!

... unrelated to the loss of human life question: why the forest surrounding the burned down houses is standing largely intact after the forest fire?

wow so sad how do we come volunteer?

MsVeracruzXXX Damn... 71 and a Thousand. This is heartbreaking 😢💔

Rogers became CEO of the electric power and gas distribution company in 2006, following the merger with Cinergy, and remained in the role until he retired in 2013, one year after the merger with Progress Energy. Prior to being CEO of Duke, Rogers was CEO of and chairman of Cinergy for more than 11 years. "Our industry has lost one of its most influential and extraordinary leaders," said Duke's current CEO Lynn Good. "We will miss Jim but we will also long remember his accomplishments and his mission to light the world." Rogers had authored the 2015 book, "Lighting the World." The stock slipped 0.5% in afternoon trade. It has gained 1.4% over the past 12 months, while the Dow Jones Utility Average has slipped 2.0% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average has lost 4.3%.
