Cougar runner James Corrigan won the Big 12 title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase last weekend in Waco, Texas. BYU ’s James Corrigan won the 3000-meter steeplechase at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships in Waco, Texas, over the weekend.
Corrigan, a sophomore from Los Angeles, topped the conference record in the event while running under the Olympic qualifying standard for the event. “It is an honor to serve as the head coach of swimming and diving as we continue to embark on our journey into the Big 12 Conference,” she said in a news release. “The legacy established by previous BYU coaches has laid a strong foundation for the team’s future success, and I am genuinely thankful for that. The unwavering pride and spirit of the Cougars is unparalleled, and I eagerly look forward to remaining a part of it.
