NEW YORK/BEIJING - ByteDance and Oracle Corp issued conflicting statements on Monday over the terms of an agreement they reached with the White House over the weekend to allow TikTok to continue to operate in the United States, casting doubt on President Donald Trump’s preliminary blessing of the deal.
ByteDance said on Monday that it will own 80% of TikTok Global, a newly created U.S. company that will own most of the app’s operations worldwide. ByteDance added that TikTok Global will become its subsidiary. The White House referred to a Fox News interview on Monday, in which Trump said that Oracle and Walmart will have “total control” over TikTok.

The point here isn't shareholder control of TicTok. It's management control of the company, its practices and its source code. As a Chinese based company it's obliged by law to give all of its data, including all user data, over to the Chinese government (think military). 🤔
A legal racket, blackmail and seizure. Would someone block Oracle assets worldwide? An international investigation of any kind?

Who is going to do a clean sweep of that product to make sure the Chinese have not buried any malware code.
