A shortage of bus drivers is complicating the start of a new school year already facing a surge in COVID-19 cases and conflicts over masks. Many school districts across the U.S. are offering hiring bonuses, providing the training and increasing pay.

In Helena, the company has 50 bus drivers and needs 21 more before classes start on Aug. 30, a shortfall Redford called unprecedented.

“I was worried. I was scared. ... I didn’t know where he was,” she said. She felt especially helpless because she couldn’t leave to get him herself without putting others at risk of infection. President Joe Biden on Wednesday ordered his education secretary to explore possible legal action against states that have blocked school mask mandates and other health measures meant to protect students against COVID-19.

It's what happens when they require masks. I have 25 years experience driving a school bus; not wearing their mask nor getting their shot.

Funny how major news doesn’t know a world outside NY. 2/3rds of schools are already back in school.

Well, I mean you insulted being a bus driver for the last 20 years by saying it was a low education job for uneducated people....what did you think would happen?

In my area there are private transportation services that parents pay for to send their children to school (even daycare/preschool). These parents don’t like public school buses.

Must be brexit then!

You didn't need the help of an economics nobel price to find a solution ...😒

Drop all vaccine-mandates. Let healthy people work & make a living. Also a shortage of teachers, nurses, airline industry workers. Vaccine mandates & restrictions for unvaccinated healthy people will crush the economy, put people out of work & hurt small businesses & families.

Only a fool would want to be among Unvaccinated kids i an enclosed school bus. There should not be classes until kids can get vaccinated and have to get vaccinated

Yeah I get paid 16.95 an hour

Amazing all these companies struggling to hire people have to pay more to attract people Someone should look into this

U.S. Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui also ordered that Roseberry undergo a mental competency evaluation, after Roseberry told him he could not understand the proceedings against him because he had not been able to take his medications for blood pressure or for his 'mind.' 'My memory isn't that well, sir,' Roseberry said, adding that his wife has power of attorney over his medical issues and he did not know the names of his medications. 현대교회가 예수님의 십자가를 거절하는 원인은 자유주의 신학입니다 HolyBloodOfRedemption Use the T word…
