Patience paid off for Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday. The Chihuahuas walked 11 times — three more times than they reached via hits — and center fielder Bryce Johnson homered in a 12-4 win over visiting Albuquerque. Johnson drove in three runs on two hits, including his second homer of the season. He also swiped his third base of the season. Third baseman Graham Pauley went 0-for-2 but led the team with three walks.
Corpus Christi 3, Missions 2: LHP Austin Krob struck out six and allowed a run on three hits and a walk. RHP Jayvien Sandridge allowed a run in the ninth after LHP Omar Cruz blew the save with a run allowed over two innings. CF Jakob Marsee went 2-for-5 with a double. SS Connor Hollis went 1-for-3 with two RBIS and a walk.
Dayton 4, TinCaps 1: 3B Devin Ortiz hit his first home run and C Ethan Salas went 1-for-4 with his second double. Salas, Ortiz and 1B Griffin Doersching also struck out twice each. RHP Enmanuel Pinales allowed three runs in four innings in the loss, snapping the TinCaps’ three-game winning streak. LOW SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE Storm 11, Visalia 5: 1B Romeo Sanabria drove in four runs on three hits, including his first homer and a double.
