CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The recording of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s 1978 Agora show has gone down in history as one of the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer’s best live sets ever. Bootleg recordings of the concert circulated for years, becoming a favorite of fans. And the concert was an early offering in Springsteen’s ongoing official archive release schedule, arriving way back in 2014.
Now, Springsteen has added another, more recent Cleveland show to the archive mix. On Friday, March 4, he released a live album of his 2009 concert at the Quicken Loans Arena . The show, which took place Nov. 10, 2009, featured touring E Street band members Clarence Clemons, Nils Lofgren, Garry Tallent, Stevie Van Zandt, Roy Bittan, Max Weinberg, Charlie Giordano, Soozie Tyrell, Curtis King, Cindy Mizelle and Curt Ramm, according to Springsteen’s website.
Notably, the show was one of the last concerts to feature Clemons performing with Springsteen. ClemonsAnother big highlight: Springsteen and the E Street Band performed the “Born to Run” album start to finish. “If witnessing Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band pull out all the stops in celebration of what may be their most beloved album didn’t reaffirm your faith in the power of rock ‘n’ roll, nothing would,” wrote then Plain Dealer Pop Music Critic John Soeder inThe live album was recorded by John Cooper and mixed and mastered by Jon Altschiller with additional engineering by Danielle Warman, according to Springsteen’s website. It features a cover photo by Jo Lopez.
