“Second amendment seems like you can bear arms but I don’t see the government trying to ‘Big Brother’ us or march down our throats at the moment, and if they did, I don’t see us doing anything about it. So I don’t see the point of having assault rifles in the hands of young individuals, especially ones who are mentally ill. Honestly, other countries have mentally ill kids as well, mentally ill adults, and they still don’t have this problem. So it can’t be that people are just mentally ill.

When Garrett took the podium in Berea, he had an orange T-shirt with him -- a significant item as this weekend is “,” which through a series of events around the country is designed to raise awareness to ending gun violence. Garrett said that given his platform, he views speaking out on the issues he’s passionate about as an obligation, and plans to keep doing so, regardless of what criticism he receives.

Well.. I used an M-16 in the military as well as a pistol. As far as my preference for home defense goes, I’ll take a pistol at my bedside over a rifle any day of the week..
