Cleveland is nearing full strength. The Browns have activated four more players off COVID-19 reserve: Newsome, McLaughlin, Tretter and Elliott.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Devin Duvernay secures a pass and turn upfield as he is tackled from behind by Cleveland Browns cornerback Greg Newsome II in the first quarter at M&T Bank Stadium.BEREA, Ohio -- The Browns will be as healthy as they’ve been all season as they head into Heinz Field Monday night for what Ben Roethlisberger said Thursday is likely his last regular season game there.

On Thursday, they activated four players off of COVID-19 reserve: cornerback Greg Newsome II, kicker Chase McLaughlin, center JC Tretter and defensive tackle Jordan Elliott. The only players left on the virus list are practice squad safety Tedric Thompson, offensive tackle Alex Taylor, linebacker Elijah Lee, linebacker Tony Fields II, and practice squad quarterback Nick Mullens.

It means the Browns’ widespread COVID-19 outbreak is almost over, and just in the nick of time. The Browns need to win out to make the playoffs, beginning with Pittsburgh and finishing with the Jan. 9 Bengals matchup at home. Both the 7-8 Browns and 7-7-1 Steelers still have a chance to win the AFC North if they win out, with some help from this week’s opponents of the 9-6 Bengals and 8-7 Ravens.

With Newsome back, the Browns are getting close to a full complement of defenders to try to beat Big Ben, who’s 25-2-1 against them.
