Wooten was one of three key figures in the prosecution of drivers in Brookside. The others were Mark Parnell, the town attorney and prosecutor, and Mike Jones, who resigned as the police chief less than a week after theJim Wooten, the judge in the town of Brookside, Ala., is shown in a photo that published in the Birmingham News shortly after he was first appointed in 2008.
