Wherever he is “valued”Quinn Bailey went from the practice squad to playing right tackle in Week 10 against Tennessee. That outing was rough for him and for the Broncos in general, but it helped set him up for a better performance when he stepped into the lineup midway through Sunday’s game against Kansas City for left guard Dalton Risner.
“It helps a lot because you just get used to being out there,” Bailey said. “It’s hard when you’re on team because you’re looking at cards and not getting huddle calls. So it’s nice to get in there and get huddle calls again.” With Risner out of the finale due to an elbow injury, Bailey is set to make his first NFL start on Sunday between left tackle Cam Fleming and center Graham Glasgow.
“It’s just kind of the nature of the position,” he said. “You’ve got to be ready to fill in where you’re needed.”NFL teams across the country this weekend will honor Bills safety Damar Hamlin before their Week 18 games. Hamlin’s made progress in recovering from suffering cardiac arrest on the field in Cincinnati but as of Friday afternoon remains hospitalized.
Teams have the option of painting the “3s” on their 30-yard lines in Bills colors, wearing pre-game shirts that say “Love for Damar 3,” and having their public address announcer read a statement of support for Hamlin and for first responders before the game.Tight end Eric Saubert, cornerback Damarri Mathis, outside linebacker Jonathan Kongbo, tight end Eric Tomlinson and right tackle Billy Turner are all questionable for Sunday’s season finale.
