Amsterdam News has been reporting the news of the day from a Black perspective for 113 years. As director, Thompson-Morton facilitates these services, offering support and pioneering projects to address the digital blindspot in Black newsrooms. The Black Media Initiative helps in other ways, too. Grant, who’s worked with the initiative for training sessions, said working with the program increased exposure to his organization.
