Instead, he says the inspiration for the character was much closer to home
He says: 'As it [the meeting] ended I found myself surrounded by a lot of ladies, not all of them, but one or maybe two did ask me… could they video me telling them to F-off [sic]… I said is that really appropriate at a #MeToo meeting?'Cox says the appeal of Roy illustrated 'the confusion we live in'.
