Brex, the fintech credit card startup, has teamed up with Bank of the West to roll out a co-branded credit card

Share to twitterBrex, the fintech credit card startup, is teaming up with Bank of the West, the subsidiary of BNP Paribas, to roll out a co-branded credit card. It marks the first co-branded credit card to come out of Brex which caters to startups and entrepreneurs.

Bank of West’s Jean-Marc Torre, Senior Executive Vice President, Head of Corporate and Commercial Banking, said the bank teamed up with Brex as part of its efforts to offer innovative technology and services to its clients. Through its Innovation Hub, the bank partners, purchases and develops digital technologies to meet the needs of different groups including entrepreneurs.

Brex and Bank of the West began piloting the corporate credit card in the second quarter. With demand surging, Bank of the West is now making it available broadly in North America. The alliance on the part of Brex and Bank of the West comes at a time when fintechs and traditional banks are trying to find their place in the digital economy. With so many different products and markets to go after, the ones that are targeting niches seem to be doing very well.
