Country music star Brad Paisley operates a backhoe as he breaks ground for The Store, a free grocery store for people in need, Wednesday, April 3, 2019, in Nashville, Tenn.
Paisley donned a cowboy hat-shaped construction helmet for part of Wednesday’s groundbreaking ceremony for The Store, which is a partnership with his alma mater Belmont University. “Hunger and food insecurity is a real issue in Nashville,” said Williams-Paisley. “One in seven people deal with food insecurity. That means they don’t know where their next meal is coming from. And it’s even worse for kids, one in five children.”
“We really want to get people before this is a major crisis,” Williams-Paisley said. “We want to help people in this gap where they are trying to get back on their feet.”

Help me with the math...if 1 in 7 people deal w/ hunger in Nashville & the population = 691,243 people...how's feeding 3,000 people for the year based off a population this size going to help? Off the stats they gave, they would need to feed almost 99K people. 3K isn't close.

I applaud the effort but this never works unfortunately. Just look at the recent collapse of paneras pay what you want program. Crash and burn because people just take and give nothing.
Suggest they contact Farmers & Supermarkets to hand them over the “ugly vegetables” which paying customers don’t buy but that are just as good as the “pretty ones”
