Dune 165 million budget and 41 million opening getting 28.4% of its budget (studios get about 50% cut so it’s actually less). Eternals has 200 million budget and if it grosses 67 mill this weekend it would be getting 33.5% of its budget.
Dune had trouble reaching 41 million and y’all labeled it a success. How 2 face can you get?
Eternals is definitely gonna debut higher than $70M since it had a great Friday & a great Saturday too! CinemaScore will effect the second week!

When your commercials for Marvel movies or pickup trucks are indistinguishable from the sketches during SNL, it's time to rethink your products.
It tried so hard to be different that it ultimately failed. Be it stand alone or part of the MCU it just didn't flow smoothly.

To be fair, B cinemascore is not “mediocre”. It is just on the lower end for marvel movies but if we put this score in comparison to other movies it is actually not that bad.

Yeah because it was a mess of a movie, hard to follow and understand, it felt forced into the mcu despite there being comics which are ten times better then this movie, the only saving grace was the actors who acted dam well :P It's a bad movie

I've seen the preview 100 times. What is the movie about? There's not enough content to show that the movie has a plot? 'We watched and did not interfere...until now... for some reason.' Only going for Kumail.
Turns out the Eternals were not that eternal but the audience did not know them enough to care. The acting was great, the Costumes, CGI Great but the character development was not. GOTG had us crying in the prologue and later for a Racoon holding stick. Story, Story, Story...
Bet they’re wishing they had offered it on Disney+ in addition to the box office. Further proof that ScarJo actually benefited from the streaming profits she said hurt her box office $$
The movie was so good. I don't know the comics so the story I know is what was on screen. I loved every second. Had a good bit of humor, and a great cast.
That’s an awfully negative spin you’re putting on the movie considering it’s on par with the rest of the movies that have come out during the pandemic. It’s about context. It can’t be compared it to previous Marvel releases. I for one, can’t wait to see it. Eternals

This was a great movie. As someone who didn't even cry when Iron Man died, I felt this movie on so many levels.
Wow this movie must be really terrible. So glad I didn’t waste my money. Fridge should have never given Zhao all this creative control. For a director that’s actually gifted, she really A Wrinkle in Timed Eternals. Not everyone can direct a Marvel movie. Yikes
