Federal authorities in Boston have charged a Rwandan man who they accused of repeatedly lying about his involvement in murders and rapes during the country's 1994 genocide to win asylum and citizenship in the United States.
In addition to lying about his involvement in murders and rapes, Nshimiye also lied about his former classmate's involvement in the genocide, authorities said. Court records didn't show a lawyer for Nshimiye and a phone number for him or his family was not immediately available Thursday. His victims included a 14-year-old boy and a man who sewed doctor’s coats at the university hospital, authorities said.
