Bosnians mark 25 years since Srebrenica genocide that shocked the world

SREBRENICA, Bosnia - Bosnians commemorated on Saturday the massacre of about 8,000 Muslim men and boys in Srebrenica, marking the 25th anniversary of killings that shocked the world and have stood out as Europe’s only atrocity since World War Two constituting genocide.

“After 25 years we succeeded in finding his mortal remains, so they can be laid to their final rest,” said Fikret Pezic, who buried his father Hasan. World leaders addressed the ceremony by video link, unable to attend because of coronavirus epidemic. Instead of the tens of thousands visitors who typically attend the commemoration each year, only a few thousand came after organisers banned organised visits.

They sent women and children away and captured and executed the men and boys they found. The bodies were dumped into mass graves and later exhumed by U.N. investigators and used as evidence in war crimes trials of Bosnian Serb leaders. The U.N. war crimes tribunal for the former Yugoslavia convicted Mladic and his political chief Radovan Karadzic over Srebrenica genocide but they remained heroes for Serbs, many of whom deny that genocide happened.

It shocked the world and the world did nothing. The world never does anything about genocide, unless it's after a war, the purpose of which was never to stop genocide. Look at the Armenians. Look at Ruanda-Burundi. Look at China today. Be shocked, do nothing.

Humanity must curse Dutch UN commander ThomKarremans who let Serbian butcher Mladic massacre more than 8000 innocent Bosnian men, women and children who had no weapons to defend themselves because their weapons were taken by the Dutch 'peace keepers'. Shame on Dutch Army!!!

The great powers hindered lead prosecutor Sir Geoffrey Nice's investigation into the SrebrenicaGenocide and covered up as much of the truth as they possible could.

I hate when some people just want to put the blame on religion for many conflicts.... Plus, if one side is ok with religion, but the other side is not, what to do then? The fact, such genocides unveil many fake narratives on humanity, respect & justice... just PR crap!

Armenian genocide Jewish Genocide Rwandan Genocide Srebrenica genocide Tibetan cultural genocide Uighur ongoing genocide. There's a pattern here, the world always closes it eyes when it's convenient, because it doesn't want to confront evil head-on. We must never remain silent!

It happened in the middle of Europe and nobody was shock, whole the world was playing “three wise monkeys” because Bosnians are “Muslim”. I pray for them. I hope it will never happen again.

Where were the Dutch? That they had to protect that area?

ALL RESPONSIBLES OF THIS AWFUL KILLINGS IN SREBRENICA BOSNIA HERZEGOVINA SHOULD BE PUT ON TRIAL BEFORE AN SPECIAL INTERNATIONAL TRIBUNAL. THE KILLERS ARE POOR HUMAN ANIMALS WHO KILLED UNARMED KIDS WOMEN AND ELDERS PERSONS.

The World Powers, USA and Europe did not do enough to stop genocide of Bosnian people. They watched and UN forces deployed (Dutch Soldiers) facilitated Serbian Terrorist in carrying out Genocide. Only country that came to the defense of Bosnia was Iran.
