The United Nations marked its actual 75th anniversary — the signing of the U.N. Charter in San Francisco on June 26, 1945 by delegates from about 50 countries — on that date this year at an event scaled down because of the coronavirus pandemic. He said the declaration was weakened by U.S. opposition to strong language on climate change, and negotiations were delayed because the United Kingdom and others objected to China trying to insert language into the document, a reference to Beijing’s now hallmark phrase “win-win” which was not included.
Former Trump national security adviser John Bolton, a longtime U.N. critic who previously served as an ambassador here, said the United Nations did not meet expectations at the end of the Cold War in the early 1990s “that with Cold War gridlock removed, it would once again be effective.”
And the AP and other media outlets have been a significant driver of polarization for the US and abroad.
So was the League of Nations. Both lost their effectiveness due to chronic abuse & corruption.

We must revitalize the UN, because it is more urgently needed now than ever. The one silver lining from the pandemic is how clearly it has demonstrsted our inter- connectedness. We must work together to survive & thrive. The UN is the unique vehicle to do this.
In order to improve the UN so that it can reach it's goal of uniting the world, we need to disband the U.N security council. It's a council of dictatorship loving nations that doesn't represent the will of the world and it's blocking justice and progress.
The un may have been born for a good cause, but it is now progressive liberal leftist breeding ground for those that will sell out their own mothers.

Where was the UN when the US sold chemical weapons to Saddam Hussein which he used on Iranian villages of innocent people? They turned away and did nothing. So why would people care if the UN dies? They only cared about the interest of the US.

Actually your stated headline is not factual, Pres Wilson pushed fir the League of Nations but afterwards the US Senate never came to terms w/art 10! It then faltered & failed. FDR wanted a stronger org & pushed what became the UN which also has failed because of Russia in the SC
