Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstanhas done it again, this time reprising his Kazakh alter ego to disrupt American politics—including barging in on a packed CPAC event where Vice PresidentThe new film revolves around Borat and his daughter coming back to America 14 years after the success of the 2006 film, a gonzo mockumentary about an enthusiastic Kazakh exploring the U.S.
One of the ways he’s doing that? By shelving his traditional Borat costume in favor of different disguises, including acostume. In one scene from the trailer, Borat disguises himself as the president and goes to a CPAC event to prank Pence, who’s giving a speech about the “low” risk of coronavirus. Borat runs into the room, dressed as Trump, with a woman slung over his shoulder, shouting, “I brought the girl for you!” as Pence watches on, confused.
Speaking of coronavirus, the film was shot during the pandemic, and shows how Borat got by in the states. In one scene, he hangs out with a bunch of guys in a log cabin, showing them how to “kill” the virus with a magnifying glass and a frying pan. The scene was previously teased in Wednesday’s sneak peek of the film.
Sadly, neither the teaser nor the trailer proffer any of the wilder scenes that have previously been reported, including Cohen’s stunt singing at a far-right rally in Washington, or purportedly interviewing former New York mayor. The interview apparently went so off the rails that Cohen had to flee the scene after Giuliani called the police on him. We’ll know the truth on October 23, when the long-awaited sequel debuts on Amazon Prime.
Pranks and dumb foreigner jokes are pure 2020 energy.
