Boot Biden from office? GOP lawmaker will call to invoke 25th Amendment

Rep. Chip Roy , R-Texas , announced Friday he will propose a resolution calling for Vice President Kamala Harris to replace President Joe Biden .via X, the representative explained his resolution will urge Harris to exercise the power of the 25th Amendment, which allows the vice president to declare the president unable to fulfill their duties and assume the role of president in their place.

Such a scenario requires the majority vote of either the president’s cabinet or Congress. It has never been used to replace a sitting president. If the vote were to pass, the president is allowed to disagree with the ruling and announce a return to the presidency. The voting group will then be given four days to disagree before the president’s powers are restored.

If the voting group disagrees within the four days, Congress then votes to decide if the sitting president is able to serve. If Congress disagrees, the president is removed and the vice president assumes the presidency.. “It’s abundantly clear he is no longer running the country. And all of this has been covered up by Democrats aided by their mainstream media partners to lie to the entire country about Biden’s cognitive decline. Outrageous.

Mike Lee, R-Utah,in a nod to the presidential debate in which Biden floundered. “This is dire.
